I am attempting to set us a Samba server. Just to share music and
pictures with the other computers in my house (XP Home,XP Pro, SUSE
9.2), I am using SUSE 9.2 on the machine I would like to make the server.
I have some good directions that seem easy enough to follow. However I
have still encountered two problems. In smb.conf I am supposed to:
scroll down and uncomment:

      ;[public]
      ; comment = Public Stuff
; path = /home/samba (change to what you will use on your computer)
      ; public = yes
      ; writable = yes
      ; printable = no

However my smb.conf does not contain a [public] section. I know the ;
causes the line to be a comment. So should I put this section into
smb.conf? In the path line it says /home/samba (change to what you will
use on your computer), I dont know what it is refering to. My machine
name for this machine is linuxthree, the XP Pro machine is XPPRO, the
other linux machine is linuxfour.

Please gear any answers for an inexperienced newbie.

Thanks
Charlie
