Which version to start ?

Hello all,

I have a 3 CD set that includes SuSE 8.2 and SuSE 9.1
I would like to install so that I can take a look at and get an idea of
SuSE, as I am new to Linux.
I have installed and Mandrake, Fedora and Ubuntu and have had a good look at
them.

>From various postings it seems like 8.2 is dead and buried and 9.1 was a
dog. Is this correct?

Would it be a good idea to install 8.2 and run it, then up it to 9.1 in the
hope that I will then get a reasonable grip on SuSE, or is 9.2 and 9.3 very
different.

Suggestions appreciated.
