On Sun, 12 Jun 2005 23:29:34 -0500, someone posing as Dr. Deb pretended
that someone gave a rat's ass and spewed out:

Dr. Deb: I answered this on Friday:

Here's a repost:

If you want, you can add the 9.3 sources to yast. That'll
get you the 1.5_01 version.

If you want the latest and greatest _02 or _03, then you'll have to run the
install. Then under the /etc folder you'll find a file, called profile. (No
extension on it.) This is the system config file for paths and such.

I added the following lines to it:

#added 20050420 kp for java
ezport PATH=/opt/jdk1.5.0_02/bin:$PATH

This prepended the jkd, which I installed under the /opt folder, to my path
statement. I still have 1.5.0, but it is supersceded by 1.5.0_02.

This avoids any issues with OpenOffice, which - for some reason - likes to
only use the Java installed by YaST.
