By default, it will not reformat existing partitions unless you tell it
to. At the partitioning screen during the install, you can change that,
though.

This isn't unique to xfs, but yeah. And they should *always* mark
xfs_tools for install if there's at least one xfs partition. Similar
for other file systems, of course.
