They do a fantastic smoked eel here (Germany, well, mainly the north, you
don't see it here down south often), it is a real delicacy, although having
seen what happened when my father caught a salt-water eel, I wouldn't want
to be involved in the catching process!
When on holiday in Devon (England), my father used to go out with one of the
local crab fishermen on his boat. They had one coiled up in a lobster pot,
they managed to get it out and severed its head and threw it in the bottom
of the boat, half an hour later, my father put his foot down next to the
eel and it bit through his boot, wetsuit and sock and latched onto his
shin!

P.S. Saw the footage of the Blue Marlin (is that correct) that got its own
back on the 18 year old sports fisherman in the US...
