OpenOffice org vers 2.0 (suse9.3) very bad menu fonts

Suse 9.3 comes with open office org version 2.0 - unfortunately for me
OO.o displays very poor fonts in the menus - menu bar, menu lists etc
etc. I cant see that it can be canged. (not that it says so much, but I
am looking hard!)

Anyone else finding this? Or is it down to an old graphics card or
something?
