This may be a case of packages that are on the DVD but not the CDs. I'm
an old Fortran dinosaur myself, and I used the 9.3 DVD to install g77:

Version: 3.3.5-5 Installed: 3.3.5-5 Size: 4.5 MB Media No.: 1
  License: GPL
  Package Group: Development/Languages/Fortran
  Provides: g77, libg2c.so.0, gcc-g77 = 3.3.5-5
Authors: James Craig Burley , Toon Moene , et.al.

Here's the installed versioning info:

  wyrd@aces:~> g77 --version
GNU Fortran (GCC) 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
Copyright (C) 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

GNU Fortran comes with NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law.
You may redistribute copies of GNU Fortran
under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
For more information about these matters, see the file named COPYING
or type the command `info -f g77 Copying'.

If the OP can access the 9.3 DVD, it should be there.

(Sorry--can't help with the antivirus as I don't have Doze anywhere)
