PoPToP problem

Hello,

I'm trying to connect my WinXP laptop to my office nerwork via PoPToP on our
linux server.

Everything appears to be set up ok as I can connect, authenticate and
register my laptop with the pptpd service.

In the logfile I can see that the necessary ip addresses have been assigned
to the client and server so that my laptop is given an ip address in the
local subnetwork.

After that I get nothing. Neither side can ping each other. I can't get
access to services either to or from the Linux server or WinXP laptop.

I use the shorewall firewall software so I thought that this must be the
problem, but no. I've turned off all firewall functions and still no joy.

Some info:
