Hi,

On my Toshiba Satellite 2100 Pro, I have to hit one of the direction
keys at the beginning of the boot process (I mean in the first 1-2
seconds) to be able to choose an other boot peripheral. From there I can
boot from CD/DVD, HD, network, etc... Maybe that's what you're looking
for? There's also a similar way to access the BIOS but I don't remember
exactly how (maybe holding F1 for a few seconds).
About your second question: I've been using 10.0 on this laptop since
beta 3; I had 9.3 Pro before. I'm not missing anything - with all the
on-line yaST repositories available, I've got all I need; I install Java
from the official repository on gwdg.de, MPlayer and Scribus from
Packman... And 10.0 is REALLY faster than 9.3 on this laptop. If I were
you, I'd wait for 10.0 final (even if RC1 seems to be working perfectly
for me, it can be dangerous to use it).

Seb.
