There is and it has been posted many many many times in this group.
It is If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Mmm. This is a personal opnion. I use the free version and just think:
if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have no problems with them. But then: if it ain't broke, don't fix
it.

Oh every 6 months there will be a new version. I still use 9.1 and it
does perfectly what I want it to do. There is no reason to buy the
latest and last, because if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So there is your solution. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't use apt. The only updates I want are security updates, not
version updates. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And what are the new versions of a program anyway that you have so much
trouble. I asume you want every latest version of every program. There
is no need for that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

10.1 will come out around the end of march.

As I said, I still use 9.1 and it does a great job. Because I am a bit
interested in SUSE and 10.0, I will be using that when it comes out. If
I were just a user who wants to work on my PC, I would have gone for
another year with 9.1 and then step over to whatever version would be
available for free at that moment.
