You can tell that I not getting much sleep; I am, get lots of it. I was on
the run from the hurrican and that was three days of doing absolutely
nothing. Now when I get back to my destop, I try to do many things at
once...by so doing I discover some many things and question. I like pust
things to their limits. that's most of us right?...

Anyway back to the main question. Okay My realplayer works but the other
multimedia programs seem to have one problem or another. the defualt audio
play will not play an mp3, it just sits there; it shows the file and title
but it won't play. The default movie player, plays mpegs in such crips
prescision but again no sound comes through. Also real player does not play
avi. how do i get their decoders working correctly.

My system sounds are fine though; I have no problem with the
startup/shutdown sound or even the event sounds; it is just kofine....
I can't think of the names now because I am in windows but I am sure you
might have an idea of what talking about. I still in the process of getting
the news reader to work and then I can stay in linux completely.

steve

ps. before I post these messages I usually give it a couple of trys but then
I feel if you give me a hint as to what to do, I can get further quicker.
thanks...
