Fresh SuSE 10.0 install - sound issues...

Hi there,

Installed SuSE 10.0 i386 DVD Eval last nite, on my AMD64...

Why you ask? So that w32codecs can decode WMV9 videos (the
32-bit DLL's refuse to work under native 64-bit xine, but
work in 32-bit xine, but that breaks a52/dts sound decoding).

Now with an i386 xine under a full i386 SuSE I still get no
surround sound. Mobo is an Asus K8V-X K8T800 chipset with a
VT8237 southbridge, using via82cxx alsa driver...

xine is latest cvs version from cambuca website, and w32codecs
likewise...

I have played with ac_97_quirk and DXS settings, but nothing
allows surround sound...

Does anyone have any clues as to what I can do to fix this?
