acroreader problem

hi all,
I upgraded my suse 9.2 to 10 but somehow the acroread doesn't work. I.e.
also reinstalled with Yast from original dvd to be sure, but when entering
acroread on the commandline the prompt just returns after a few seconds
without anything happening. Not any error about what went wrong, just
nothing. I tried to install the original version from the Adobe website,
but the result is the same.
I moved to /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/Reader/intellinux/bin
and started ./acroread which showed some missing libraries, but these are
stored in the environment with the acroread bash script from
the /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/bin directory. Anyway, I symlinked all libs
from the intellinux in /usr/lib, but again no acroreader to be seen and no
error message whatsoever.
Any ideas or anybody ever had these problems? acroread worked fine in 9.2,
also after the upgrade to 7.0.
