good call on Knoppix -- I have taken the settings down and am trying to
emulate them.
Being a newbie I have gotten my feet wet with a lot of different distros,
most have left a rotten taste in my mouth. I loved SUSE when I first got it
loaded here on the laptop and just wish I didnt have these trivial
problems. Based on what I hear from the group, I am ready to format a tower
and experiment further. I just wish this old laptop had given more, but so
far, I am impressed with what I see
