One way to do this is to manually edit your config file.

Look in /etc/X11

Open first one file, and then the other:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
/etc/X11/XF86Config

Cut and paste the contents of each of these two files into another Usenet
Post, and I'll try to recommend an edit which will properly configure your
monitor.
