k3b is a burning tool, not a backup tool. Don't tell me you use it as a
backup tool.

I personally use backup2l as a backuptool. I let it backup to a seperate
partition that I only mount for this purpose.

The reason is that it was the easiest to restore.
http://backup2l.sourceforge.net/ If I would like, I could add something
that puts it on a DVD, although that would need to be a dual layer,
because it is more then 4.2 GB.

Backing up is a serious something and I would personally never let a GUI
tool, let alone a burning software at it.
