Opinion of what I'm doing?
I use a week clock timer for turning on an external USB drive for
mirroring my /home, /etc and /srv.
I have cron jobs to mirror them like:
# rsync -are --delete /home/* /media/usbdisk/mirror/home/
There are separate cronjobs for these different directories to take
place in different times and frequencies.
This is not backing up in it's meaning but I see an advantage here.
If the machine fails I just put the disk on another one and do the
mounts. Since the other machine has a normal clean install SUSE boot on
one small drive to take over, my server is up and running in no time at all.
Normally I am booting this other box to Alphas (Alpha 3 tonight) and stuff.
