That's you're problem. When you buy a copy of something from a 3rd
party, you need to understand what it is that they are actually
selling. That is more general than just SuSE or just operating system.
It is very common for, e.g., magazines to sell stripped-down copies of
software to reduce the size of the media or because of legal
considerations.

But a shrink-wrap version from a local store, or directly from Novell,
and you should have no problem. If you buy at a store, check the
package to ensure that it's the current (10.0) release.

That's essentially a demo version. It's intended for those who want to
try it without actually doing an install.

Yast will prompt you about that during the install. I would advise
that you create a separate logical drive for /home; you might want a
separate /boot as well.
By default Yast will install a loader called Yast and include your
existing windoze in the boot menue. I'd advise you to plan in advance
whether you want the code in the MBR, root or a separate /boot
partition.
