Take the time to REREAD what I posted earlier.

You SHOULD NOT be even where you have a bash prompt!!!!!!!

What I posted was that BEFORE your machine even booted into Linux, you
should have typed

init 3

AT THE SCREEN before YOUR MACHINE EVER EVEN BOOTED INTO LINUX!!!!!
