1) Please do not toppost.
2) We are talking about configuring X, not about a freeze-up.
If you have a REAL freeze-ip, CNTRL+ALT+DEL won't work. If it does,
then CNTRL+ALT+Backspace would also still work. That would close your
X-session. With [CTRL][ALT][F2] and `init 3`, you *** down X.
Also I can now do CNTRL+ALT+DEL without the said file
/etc/shutdown.allow.
What you can do is enable the SRq key. That should get you out of a
lock-down.
