The problem was that SiS produced few chipsets that support audio with
different levels of functionality. They recommend to consult motherboard
manufacturer web site. In other messages you can see why timidity. The
sound produced by fluidsynth should be better, but it depends on quality of
sound fonts. If you find some that you find good, let me know.
