Download the 10.0 series and be a happy camper. ;-)
I expected this from you. I've already downloaded the 5 CD ISOs for 10.0 but I'm not about to do an upgrade on my only Linux PC because I'm right in the middle of a bunch of work with it and I've been reading about all the problems people have been having after "upgrading" from 9.2 and 9.3 to 10.0..
When I am in a position to do a clean install to 10.0 I will. Hopefully by then it'll be 10.1 or 10.2 instead.
Otherwise do a minimal installalation
I already have a maximal installation that works well.
and then add some installation sources to your YaST.
And this will give me back the 2 CDs I used to install 9.2 on my and my mother's PCs?
Also, I'm very new to YaST. I wouldn't know what installation sources to add to it - if you're talking internet sources, that is. I don't know any.
If you have a DVD player, ask for a copy of the DVD (or the DVD itself)
I have a DVD burner, not a "player", and I can download the DVD ISO - but the only ones I see are called "EvalDVD". I would much prefer a single DVD version over 5 CDs but I want the real thing, not an "evaluation" copy. Are they misnamed? Are they "evaluating" the efficacy of distributing SuSE Linux on a DVD? What does "EvalDVD" really mean?
And *NONE* of this addresses my primary concern to simply restore the 2 damaged discs in my original 9.2 collection.

Eval DVD is missing some packages that are on the boxed set.
If you need them, yu'll get them from download afterwards, again, by adding install sources. Or, you can download just the net install CD and do the whole installation via ftp with everything you need.
See my pages, it explains among other things this installation source thing. It also explains what you need to do to play all multimedia files, Simple straight forward instructions. If I may say so many people have used those instructions, some have even thanked for them here afterwards. Which has made me very happy :)
I even have the different versions of Suse's bit torrents on my pages 8-)
