I just finished using my 5 CD set to install SuSE 9.2 Pro on my mother's PC. She lives 40 freakin' miles out in the middle of nowhere. When I finished, I *tried* to make backups of my 5 CDs for her so that if she ever needed my help to install something in the future I could step her through the process by voice over the telephone. But K3B choked on discs 4 and 5 while I was attempting to copy them because they have somehow become damaged.

It took all weekend to update her new 9.2 installation with her stinkin' 56K modem to make her SuSEWatcher chameleon grin again and to get her setup with apt-get and libdvdcss, etc..

I will not be driving out there to spend another weekend upgrading her PC to SuSE 10.x until I have upgraded my own PC to SuSE 10.x and I will not be doing that probably until 10.2 is available.

Meanwhile, I need working copies of the 9.2 Pro discs 4 and 5 so that I can restore my own set and finish making her backups.

Why do I need to explain any of this in this friggin' newsgroup?

I just need to know the best way to restore these two damaged discs in my set. That's all. It's really very simple. I *thought* coming to a SuSE newsgroup would be a great place to start for getting this kind of help. Instead I'm starting to feel that purchasing the 9.2 Pro box from Amazon.com would be a better route. At least I wouldn't have to explain the color of my toilet roll and whether my uncle's gay.
