Re: Where are the SuSE 9.2 Professional CD ISOs?

So whatever.

The point is that you need the bittorrent RPM that is meant to be used with your version of python, which is apparently 2.3.

Yes, but while we were off chasing rabbits I thought I would upgrade my installation of Python too. Seems only reasonable. Ya?

Download the appropriate RPM file and install it with:

rpm -Uhv file.rpm

Um, I now have a "deb" file, not an "rpm" file, from the website:

bittorrent-4.2.2.linux_i686-2_all_python2.3.deb

Download the "rpm" instead of the "deb", which is for Debian, not Suse.

OK, I see now that two of the links are for RPMs and the others are for DEBs. Somehow I misread the upper two buttons as links for even older versions of Python than the one I currently have.

I'm still curious as to why apt-get isn't up to speed on Python 2.4.

Actually, if I were you I would think twice before investing time
installing 9.2. 10.0 is nicer in many ways.

I installed 9.2 on my PC 6 months ago and am still enjoying it. When 10 matures into, say, 10.2 I'm sure I will quite eagerly embrace it as well.

The *only* thing that would convince me to upgrade to 10.0 right now is if it will work with my Linksys WMP54G wireless network adapter "out of the box" without me having to dork around with a bunch of half-baked workaround "solutions" that didn't work for me the last time I attempted to follow the "easy, step-by-step instructions" that are available over there on that website Some Guy wrote after he miraculously coaxed it to work on his system.
