No, I understand that it's no problem for YaST. It's me who doesn't understand what I need to do make YaST ask me for the DVD once I have one and not CD1, CD2, CD3, CD4 or CD5 whenever I want to install something new from a local disc. I don't know what makes it ask for the appropriate CDs right now. It just does it automagically

When installed from a media Yast makes the the install source. It indexes the contents of the media and it knows where to look for stuff.

It can be told to use other installation sources, like a DVD or many DVDs or a hard disk directory or a ftp server or whatever it is told to do.
