Problems with Installing Suse 10.0

I was able to install Suse 10.0 but I had some issues. First, the
installation would not accept the gucharmap package and I had to
"Ignore" it in order to finish the installation. Second, the
intallation process didn't finish all the way. It allowed me to create
the root password but didn't do any online update, create users or
verified the hardware. It just went straight into the login screen.
Finally, I'm using a KR7A-Raid Abit Motherboard and I know there are
some issues with Raid and Suse 10.0 but after disabling the Raid I
still do not have a stable system. At times the machine will just
restart for no reason. Other times it won't run applications or
perform other installations. Can anyone help me with this one?
