Re: Partitioning Suse

Anyone know of a way to resize (make smaller)the partition on which Suse
Linux is mounted?? From root-yast-system-monitor-partition-resize I receive

dismount it first. If I were to dismount it there would be no operating
system! I need to free-up space for data on an 80GB HD.

Can easily be done with Knoppix or Kanotix (my favorite) live CDs.
Just boot any of them and use Qparted.
You can drag and slide the partitions graphically.
I can't be sure of Knoppix but on Kanotix you get to be root with command sudopasswd. You need of course to be root to change partitions.
