First of all, it's important (IMPERATIVE) to understand that a model name
and number on a WiFi card means nothing.

Manufacturers can and DO change model numbers, or use the same model
number, on up to five or six different designs. That means there might be
several distinct, different, incompatible designs which ALL share the same
model number. This creates a nightmare for the Windoz user, who has to
jump through hoops, trying to find the correct driver, and for the Linux
user, it also means that there is more work involved trying to determine
what you own.

Most newer designs make it virtually impossible to determine the chipset
involved, because the actual chipset employed on the card is covered over
with a metalic RF (radio frequency) shield, making visual identification
impossible. This means learning to use the tools you do have, in order to
make the identifications, which is the first step towards enabling your
device.

Try

lspci -vv
lspci -v

or others to do your identification. Then, when you know with specificity
what hardware you actually have, you can proceed on the basis of knowlege.
