SUSE 10 noob network problem

I'm a Linux noob using SUSE 10. Running an odd network setup, I have a
cable Internet hookup, with a hardware firewall/VPN appliance that creates a
tunnel back to my business office. The appliance allows straight-thru
general Internet access, routing only traffic intended for the office down
the VPN tunnel. I have 3 PC's, one WinXP desktop, one WinXP laptop
(connecting wirelessly), and my SUSE 10 box. Firewall also runs DHCP.
WinXP boxes access Internet and office just fine, DHCP or statically
addressed. SUSE box can access the office systems with a static setup, but
can't reach (http or ping) any Internet addresses. It is not able to get a
DHCP address from the DHCP server in the firewall. I've looked at the
Ethernet card settings and while I see an IPv6 address for it when running
DHCP, there is no IPv4 address. I don't believe the Fortinet firewall DHCP
server supports IPv6....
Since the Win boxes can reach the Internet, I don't believe the issue to be
with the firewall appliance. Something in the SUSE setup (firewall?) has to
be my problem. Here's the network setup I'm using:
IP address: 10.2.16.x (x varies by PC, either 50, 100, or 101, SUSE box
being 100)
Subnet: 255.255.240.0
Firewall/gateway address: 10.2.16.1/255.255.240.0
DNS: 10.0.16.10, 68.87.77.130, 10.0.16.14
All systems can ping the 10.0.16.x DNS servers, but only the Win boxes can
ping the 68.87.77.130 server at the ISP. Basically, if it's not a 10.x.x.x
address, the SUSE can't ping it. I've run Lookup on the SUSE box and it is
resolving names fine, further confirming to me that this is a setup issue in
routing or firewall. I just don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for reading through this and I hope you can help this frustrated noob
out!
