I hit "Post" before I had finished, sorry.
/var/log/messages reports a number of messages, all identical to this:
Sep14 08:54:38 linux alsactl: resmgr: unable to connect to resmgrd: No such
file or directory
and also y2base gives the same error except it's "y2base:" instead of
"alsactl:", obviously.
I notice that resmgrd is S12, and alsactl is S13 in /etc/rc.d/rc5.d, so
does resmgrd simply not have enough time to load? On Suse do the rc
scripts run asynchronously?
After system boot, resmgrd IS running.
