Amorak / Kmixer Driving me Crazy

Have to ask for help I have spent days researching and trying to fix
this and I am now hopelessly lost with it.

KDE3.5
Amorak 1.3.7
Creative Audigy ZS2 Soundcard.

Ran all updates today Packman and all.

I have the problem that after I play a track the next track plays with
no sound out, to fix I have to re-config the Soundcard every track.

I (very) eventually discovered via this NG that the Kmixer could cause
problems and so I quit the Kmixer as advised and tried again. Amorak
now plays fine every track but there is almost no output, heavy duty
amplification and still barely audible with the volume setting up
full. Obviously Kmixer is the problem but I am totally at a loss on
where to go next.

What happened to the volume and how do I get it back without Kmixer
running and buggering up Amorak? Quitting Kmixer lost me the volume
control in the tray its a bit catch 22; maybe I misunderstood the
original post re fixing kmixer, I can't find it now to re -read, it
was quite an old one.

Please put me out of my misery I should be doing some work not banging
my head against an audio player, I don't need it I just want it to
work so I can get on with my life.

TIA

Jonah
