Give it a shot. Often people coming from the PC world prefer KDE as it's
layout is similar to an MS style GUI. I prefer Gnome but that may be
because I switched from Apple OSX. XFCE is also nice especially when using
the Rox file manager(lightning quick). Whatever your preferences may be,
having an alternate desktop installed can come in handy while
troubleshooting another. Have fun.
