Part of the help that was offered was posting protocol help. If the
guy or gal cannot observe the help given already, why would one want
to continue helping just in the areas the person chooses not to
ignore?

This is Usenet, it is NOT your email, and it is NOT about "traits".
The "arguments" the "other way" which you describe have ALL been
levied by the very idiots that refuse to comply with decades old
conventions.
