OK:
it seems that top posting is writing on top of a news message.
Too me this is not only fine, it is logical for both email and news
messages:
The first thing you read after "click" is what is on the top.
And the first thing you want to read is... what is on the top, since on
normal use (follow a thread) you have already read what is below.
In programming, the concept of a stack (or heap) is about the same: last in
first out (LIFO)... when you need a LIFO algorithm: the case here.
Of course a news client, opening at the end of a message, would modify my
behavior... and I would post there.
Overall I would say why such a fuss?
Since the rationale to use either method is "thin" just pickup the one you
like... or modify KNODE or PAN, or whatever newsreader you are using.
For me I am just content with the way things are on this "terribly serious
problem" ;-)
