Please help me get over an installation hurdle

Based on recommendations here I have decided to do my Linux Learnin'
using version 10 rather than 8.2. I am trying to do a clean install on
an olde DEC GL2 dual (P3) processor system. I have successfully
downloaded the 5 ISO files and burned the CDs. CD 1 won't attempt to
boot at all but CD 2 is recognized as bootable media and tries to boot
but I get an error message stating that the BIOS does not support
booting from this image or words to that effect.
The startup guide mentions that sometimes an older system will be
unable to boot from the CD and you should make a bootable floppy that
will get the system to a state where the CDs can be read but I was
unable to find the procedure for how to actually make the bootable
floppy. I assume the procedure would be similat to that I used with
RAWRITE when I installed 8.2 but I wasn't able to figure out which
files to use to make the floppy.
Can anyone tell me in novicespeak how to make the bootable floppy...it
will be much appreciated.
thanks
.
