Latest kernel patch in 10.0 does not install

Three machines with SUSE 10.0, all with default kernel:
Linux linux 2.6.13-15.7-default #1 Tue Nov 29 14:32:29 UTC 2005
i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
One machine is a server without X, two machines running KDE most
of the time. Both these two have the VMware modules compiled into
the kernel.
One out of the three one refuses to install the latest kernel
patch from Feb 7, the 2.6.13-15.8
The server is OK and one of the ones with the compiled modules is
OK. One applies the deltas but refuses to install.
This particular one is with all the latest stuff from KDE update
and has this KDE crashing issue that has been discussed here a lot.
The other KDE machine which installed the kernel patch without
any hick-ups has also 3.5.1 but lacks the latest kdelibs changes,
the ones that are said to speed things up and cause partly crashes.
Does anybody else have these experiences?
