First, my IDE HD can no longer be mounted (worked in 9.3), why I am not

mount: can't find /dev/hda1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
and this is true, there is no entry for it in both files. But what
should I enter. There is still an NTFS files system on this disk,
/dev/hda1 /windows/C ntfs ro,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=utf8 0 0
It used to be
/dev/hda1 /windows/C ntfs rw,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=iso8859-1 0 0

over here (before ReiserFS replacement). Just to add to a pool pf
possibilities, in case the first option coughs out an error or warning.

want to mount it to get some data on it across, and then reformat
it with Reiser (BTW how do I do this).
umount /dev/hda1
remove the entry, mentioned above from the fstab file
YaST2 disk
this should guide you via the gui and even add the required entry to
/etc/fstab.
I managed to do this by going directly to YaST disk. No need to unmount any
drives either.

Just upgraded from 9.3 and ran into two problems.
[...]
Also, my second problem. I have a multi monitor setup with 2 graphics
cards and 2 monitors. All runs fine, except, my secondary monitor won't
automatically shut off after the specified time, even though the primary
does fine.
Thanks for any help
Irwin
Under YaSY/Control Center, see the Power Management section. I don't believe
it has the notion of different display units (let alone cards) and handling
them separately, so I suggest you try hibernation, stand-by, HDD shutdown
and other energy saving schemes to see if luck comes your way.
Best wishes,
Roy
