powersaved daemon, desktop?

I notice that when starting a couple of desktop pc that a message appears saying that
the powersaved daemon is no running and performance may improve if it was
(or similar)
followed by the hint
/usr/bin/powersaved start
I see in yast that kpowersave and the daemon is installed and in K control center the Powers menu is relevant for laptops not desktops.
SOo I do not understand why the message is being shown.
However, I tried
pc1:/home/user1 # /usr/bin/powersaved start
with the result:
bash: /usr/bin/powersaved: No such file or directory
Any comments please?
