So, my question is, how can i set my Netgear card to active? I plan to
use the computer in a different room to my router so a wired
connection is not an option.

The short answer: YaST.

What does /sbin/ifconfig say? Either eth0 or eth1 is the wroking card.
Also see that you know if you need DHCP or a fixed IP adress and see
that these are set correct in YaST.

Hi!

Thanks for your feedback.

By typing /sbin/ifconfig i get two 'devices' a lo and a wlan0.

My router is set to be a DHCP server.

Thanks
