It is working fine here. I have a pair of 17" panels connected, they were
originally on a Ti4600, but now are on a FX5700LE and FX5900XT (connected
to two machines with the DVI and VGA ports swapped.

Below is my xorg.conf for that.

Have you checked the "Activate Dual Head mode" button in YAST? That will
allow you to define the second monitor set-up. Once you have checked the
box, click on configure and it will allow you to select the second monitor
configuration and resoution.

The settings below come from a 9.3 upraded to 10.0, during that time Sax and
nVidia changed the way some things are done, so some of it may be redundant
under 10.0, but it does work for a pair of 17" 1280x1024 displays...
