Problem using KSHOWMAIL with different ISP

Having used KSHOWMAIL (to look at email on ISP before downloading) for
over a year with my previous ISP, I recently had to change ISP
and now find that KShowmail cannot get the required info from the new
ISP's POP server.
(It just sits there saying "getting UIDL's..." the eventually times out.)

Have tried de-installing and re-installation, just to be sure.

Anyone know of some other such mail filter program, please?
(Preferably with RPM available)

(Using SuSE 9.0 Pro)
