giving up :-(

hi!
i am afraid linux (suse10) is consuming too much time just to get normal
things working on my computers...
as today knode stopped working on my laptop and suse10 never found a decent
driver for my display controller, geforce 7800 gtx. i cannot get better
resolution than 1024x768 even if my display can reach much higher.
tried PCLinuxOS today. it seems to have a better displaydriver but lacks a
lot of other things found in suse10.
i still have not found a solution for my gps device and for bluetooth dialup
with my cellular.
linux is good for devoted computernerds who doesn't USE the computer for any
advanced work. as soon as some more special things are needed, there are no
drivers/software. :-(
i've been looking for a video-->usb converter with linux drivers but so far
no luck.
whatever device i need to get working...no drivers...
i feel frustrated and sad, because i'd love to have linux instead of windows
and really tried hard. but when linux hangs up, there seems to be NO WAY to
get it working except shutting down with the powerswitch...and if it is
possible, it needs too much
man-studies for a normal user.
i need a break and time to get things done. linux can only work on older
computers so i'll have to wait a few months
until my computers grow old enough to find drivers for my and my equipment.
see you hopefully soon again!
cheers,
christine
.
