I just tried to install the 64-bit version
of Kubuntu and it crashed after dumping about
20 lines of text on boot up (on a tried-n-true
custom built box - all well-known hardware).
All other distros, I've not had this issue:
Suse/Gentoo/Slack, among others.

Running Kubuntu from DVD ... it didnt recognize
my SATA drives. Another ?buntu DVD in the trash.

I'll leave it to you which I would choose :)
