Wireless LAN Problems

Hi,

I am sorry if you have to answer lots of posts about this topic, but I
think I have a problem that searching the groups is unable to solve. I
have been using Suse linux 10 for 3 months now at work with an ethernet
connection and home with my wireless LAN.

I had managed to get the wireless working at home in such a way that it
activated automatically when I activated the wireless card. Soon after
achieving this, the OS had to be re-installed - I set up wireless again
(by the way, i have a laptop with an Intel 2200BG card running the
ipw2200 module connecting through an apple airtunes router with 128bit
WEP) but now in order for the WLAN to become active, I have to connect
to the network via kInternet, paste in the hexadecimal key, open the
network card component of YAST, exit YAST without changing any
settings, quit kInternet and restart kInternet for the WLAN to become
active.

I am guessing I have the correct settings in YAST since I do not have
to change any settings. I have a feeling that the problem lies with
kInternet. I have only 1 interface listed in kInternet (eth1) and if I
change the ethernet card setting to activate on cable connection, the
WLAN goes down as well. Do I have to add another interface or is it
something more subtle?

Any ideas would be gratefully received - I know it's only a small
problem but it is a little annoying!

There is another annoyance which I have just remembered. When clicking
on a hyperlink from impress or oowriter, the link opens in Konqueror -
can I get it to default to Firefox?

Thanks for reading,

Kitt
