made Easy!)
Hello:
my initial attempts were, just not good!
So I appreciated info from several posters, and here just resume, how to do
it, and it works well.
1) Download in a separate directory (say /KDE3p5p2)
in this directory, download all KDE 3.5.2 files
wget ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/kde/stable/3.5.2/SuSE/ix86/10.0/*
It will take a while....
2) In Yast, select source, and add the path of /KDE3p5p2 as a local
directory
3) In Yast, select update Software
On the top Lef: select Filter: Selections
Then click on "KDE Desktop Environment" until the update symbol appear (kind
of Z).
An alternative, is KDE ALL, but I did not have enough disk space.
Then select for for update the arts files, manually using the search menu
Then accept.
Then you may have to remove qscintilla, and some applications, like XINE
(you may reinstall them later).
That is it, will take a few minutes.
I have to say that after that I had to add using YAST all the XINE
libraries, which were deleted, to be able to use XINE with AVI files.
This procedure, worked well, and off course you may be able to do the same
using the link to the repository... that YAST did not accept (I have seen
this several times!)
The whole thing took me of the order of 30 minutes...
