I have my Cable Router setup for dhcp. My laptop work fine until I

I tried
deleting and reinstalling the ethernet card.

booting with out the ethernet card (it's PCMCIA), then inserting it.
Why won't SuSE release the old IP address? It had no problem releasing
mine when connecting to my friends cable router.
It sometimes happens. Don't ask details I don't care about those. :-)
Do this:
- Yast
- System
- /etc/sysconfig Editor
- Open Network / DHCP / DHCP Client
- look for DHCLIENT_RELEASE_BEFORE_QUIT
- set to Yes.
