Do you recommend anti-virus and/or a firewall?

I'm giving Linux another try, it has been 2 years since I dabbled in it
and after testing Ubuntu it looks like it has come a fair way in
usability terms. I've just tested Ubuntu and am now installing Suse to
see if I prefer it. I love the iguana logo and the default colours
won't be murky brown so it's a winner on both counts already.

In XP it's essential to have a firewall and anti-virus. Does the same
apply to Suse, and if so, which ones do you recommend?
