We were discussing (then) the mouse not scrolling in my DSL while
it was doing fine in Malcolm's VMWare. I said I hadn't tried the
mouse in DSL/VMWare since I haven't seen the need to run a
stripped down OS like DSL in VMWare in "production".

How I read it:
... it can run any OS, [there is] no need for stripping the OS down.

Of course it can. But the need to run DSL, a stripped down yet
full featured OS is the hardware.

How you inteded it to sound:
... it can run any OS, [I have] no need for stripping the OS down [now].

VMWare can, the hardware in question cannot. It can not for
example even run native SUSE.

This time I have a need to run a stripped down OS because of the
hardware. So it didn't make any sense to try it on a VMWare, the
need to run it on a low spec HW prevents that.

I need to run an OS with low HW requirements. VMWare can not run
in that HW. But this ultra light OS running on very low end HW is
a vessel to drive premium HW with premium OS (SUSE) over a low
band network

Ok, now this is solved, what is next, worldpeace or reading Usenet? OK,
easy choice, Usenet can't wait. :-)
