Hello, "test user":
I did install SUSE 10 initially from a beta, and I had really no
significant trouble later to update to the "normal boxed release", using
YAST update, and then the DVD as the source of update.
Since the SUSE 10.1 is quite close to final release, you can reasonably
expect that most comming changes will not be of "architechtural nature",
but rather bug fixes, and possibly newer libraries (kernel, KDE etc..).
Of course, there is no warranty, but it mat be reasonable to expect that
an update will work on your system.
But to be safe, just save the /etc and your home directory trees, before
you update, when time comes.
Also note that if serious trouble comes, then you may have to do a
reinstall from scratch, but I see this as unlikely.

Hi.
I recently installed Suse-10.1 Beta9. Would it hurt anything to use yast
to connect to *Suse 10* packages at pacman, guru etc to update programs
on Suse10.1Beta9?
I think that the update to the original 10.1 works as great as the update
from 10.0 to 10.1. The beta runs good, but the only things that don't work
is the automatic update, and you can't install RPM files When you give up
the paths in Yast, it won't work. Okay, it's a beta, but my hardware runs
good, and i haven't any trouble. Also my soundcard (Trust 5.1 Surround)
works good.
