ViewSonic VA721

I've read the threads here for this monitor and have tried various
work-arounds to get the monitor working. I've tried the LCD driver,
have edited the xorg.conf file to reflect the correct refresh rates,
but I still can't get the monitor out of 800x600x32K mode.

Has *anyone* had any success in getting this ViewSonic to work under
SuSE 10?

I'm going to install a more-current (eg. between 2 and 5 years old) vid
card to see if that will make a difference with the supplied generic
LCD driver.
